Section 501 makes unauthorized copying or reproduction copyright infringement, which is a civil offense (and in some cases, criminal if willful).
2. The Visual Artists Rights Act (VARA) – 17 U.S.C. § 106A

Gives "moral rights" to visual artists.

Protects your name from being attached to distorted or unauthorized reproductions.

Gives you the right to prevent destruction or modification of your work in certain situations.
This is particularly relevant if someone tries to alter your work or claim authorship.
