Welcome to the studio of Fernando Villanueva Rivera.

I’m a Puerto Rican contemporary painter with more than 30 years of artistic practice. On this channel, I share the process behind my paintings—from the first ideas and sketches to the layers, revisions, experiments, and finished works.

You’ll also find studio videos, discussions about contemporary art, reflections on painting and creativity, and commentary on the ideas, influences, and cultural references behind my work.

My practice explores figurative painting, Neo-Pop, metamodernism, symbolism, irony, sincerity, and the tension between tradition and contemporary visual culture.

This channel is an inside look at the work—not just the finished painting, but the decisions, mistakes, discoveries, and transformations that happen along the way.

Subscribe and follow the process.
